Why I created The Second Star’s Study…

Learning for learning's sake sounds fancy and serious. It only means an interest in learning without REstrictions or Expectations. who out there has wished to do a little research without having to enroll in a college? what about trying to apply for college? help dealing with college? or Maybe going back to school a bit older? the Second Star’s Study is here to help with all of these things and explore a broad range of titles and topics. Someday the Study will manifest itself into a physical "Library lounge" with a comfortable, approachable atmosphere equipped for research, tutors, discussion groups, music, and pastry! (yes!) Until then, this is its Mobile home.

Topic-of-the-day

Each BLOG post features an issue all students--enrolled or not--face in the every day attempt to learn and write. It's my advice and experiences. Be sure to check out my Week 1 entry for a more complete history of what Second Star is all about.

Some posts include critiques of various titles related to the Topic-of-the-day. I call it an OVERVIEW and it includes a link for those interested in getting a copy for themselves. A related quote-of-the-day ties it all together.

TOOLS includes College Navigator, short lessons on study resources and a section on "red tape"—like who to ask for what forms. ARCHIVES will let you review past lessons and navigator topics. College Navigator is a huge resource for the nitty-gritty details and headaches of the education administrative systems. Alongside my SAMPLES of various papers and RESOURCE LINKS for further study, TOOLS is free information. Always take advantage.

I offer several types of writing assistance: Writer’s Block Busters and Project Feedback.

Writer’s block is infuriating. Sometimes it happens with research as well as creative writing. Writer’s Block Buster’s covers both.

Feedback includes editing, notes, and discussion about how to move forward for a much lower price than the usual copy editor.

Writer’s Block Busters includes a live chat or virtual meeting. Other add-ons are also available if you need help with more than one draft or want more face time.
